JoDesa Carter (pronounced Jo-Dee-Suh) is thrilled to join Sarge’s Animal Rescue as the Veterinary Care Coordinator. With over 15 years of experience in animal care, her background spans dog training (obedience, service dogs, agility), veterinary assistance, and wildlife handling. She’s worked at Asheville's ASPCA Spay & Neuter Alliance, a horse farm rescue supporting veterans and children with disabilities, and even trained wildlife, including an alligator and a vulture, at Dan Nicholas Nature Center.

 

Currently pursuing a bachelor’s in Veterinary Technology, JoDesa aims for a master’s in Shelter Medicine and hopes to establish a sanctuary for handicapped and senior animals. She enjoys hiking with her dog, practicing yoga, reading, playing softball, and spending time with her family in Asheville, NC, where she lives with her partner, toddler, and a beloved crew of pets.
